Where ancient stone meets quiet luxury
A certified heritage building restored over four years — preserving the soul of a Greek mansion while offering the intimacy of a boutique cave retreat.
Evanthia was a historical Greek mansion built in the late 18th century, once home to Evanthia Ignathio — a healer who dedicated her life to her gift and her community. Over the following century, distinguished guests including former Turkish President İsmet İnönü were welcomed within these walls.
In 1980, the mansion fell silent and gradually deteriorated. The restoration began in 2018 and took four years to complete, carefully preserving the original architectural plan. Today, Evanthia stands as a certified heritage building by the Turkish Ministry of Culture.
"A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it."
— George A. Moore
Carved into the volcanic tufa of Cappadocia, each suite at Evanthia offers a rare stillness — the kind that only ancient stone can give. The temperature stays naturally cool in summer and warm in winter.
Breakfast is served each morning with local flavors. The historic Ürgüp bazaar, hot air balloon departure points, and Göreme's open-air museum are minutes away.
